Most catalogue disputes are not about design. They are about whose GST it was, whose price applied in which city, and what minimum order meant. Here is how to print those tables so they protect you.

A buyer does not dispute your font. They dispute the bill. And the bill is decided by three lines in your catalogue: the price, the tax and the minimum.

Print those three clearly and the catalogue protects you. Print them vaguely and every order becomes a negotiation.

1 · GST inclusive or exclusive — choose once, print everywhere

There are only two honest ways: “price includes GST at X%” or “GST extra at X% as per invoice”. Pick one with your accountant and print it on the cover and on every price spread.

The rate depends on the product — food, textiles, electronics and services sit in different slabs. One catalogue, one rate per family, stated in words.

2 · Price zones with currency

If Jaipur pays one price and Delhi another, or India and UAE differ, print the zones: city, India, export — in rupees, dirhams or dollars.

State the currency on every table. A price without a currency is an argument waiting for an invoice.

3 · MOQ per SKU, not per page

Minimum order quantity means something different for a pack of 6 and a container of 600. Print it per SKU: “MOQ 24 pieces”, “MOQ 1 case”.

When MOQ differs by variant, show both. A buyer who must ask what MOQ means will order from whoever answered first.

4 · Date it and own it

Print the catalogue month and year on the back cover. Keep the editable source in your name. An undated catalogue with last year’s price will be forwarded as current — by your own distributor.

The pricing checklist

  1. GST treatment and rate printed on the cover and each spread.
  2. Price zones by city or country, currency on every table.
  3. MOQ per SKU with pack or case defined.
  4. Catalogue dated; source files in your name.
  5. Tables checked by your accountant before press.

Do that and the catalogue stops being a source of phone calls. It becomes the price list everyone already agreed to.
